Installation
- Download X-Plane 12 from Laminar Server: X-Plane 12 Flight Simulator – X-Plane.
- Create a new Folder preferably on an empty SSD drive called X-Plane 12 –
- At this point I would go to my Anti Virus Program and exclude that folder from being scanned
- Run the Installer.exe as Administrator.
- Point the Installation path to the newly created Folder “X-Plane 12” or whatever you called it.
- Enter your serial number when asked
- You have the option to download and install the entire world or just highlight the continents you want to install
- After the Installation I would reboot my PC to be on the safe side

Addons - Definitions
Before we talk about addons, let’s first understand some definitions and the way The Simulator is organized.
Addons are additional Scenery of Aircraft you add to the Simulator. Some of them you have to manually install them (drag and drop) Others have a Installer – it does it all for you

Plugins are executable code that are run inside X-Plane. Plugins allow you to extend the flight simulator’s capabilities or to gain access to the simulator’s data. ATC Chatter – SAM – AviTab just to name a few. Some Plugins are installed when required by Aircraft or other addons automatically. There are a lot of Plugins you can install manually.
